Standard Infusion Systems

Intravenous infusion therapy has significant advantages, such as the ability to administer fluids and nutritional supplements, transfuse blood and blood products, and infuse drugs that cannot be absorbed gastroenterally, thus allowing a rapid therapeutic effect. The ability to precisely determine drug dosage remains of paramount importance.
There are three methods for intravenous administration of therapy :
– continuous infusion
– intermittent infusion
– direct infusion
Continuous infusion helps maintain stable therapeutic levels of drugs, reducing fluctuations that can occur with intermittent dosing and ensuring optimal efficacy. Our FLOWLine®, FREEFlow®, EMAFlow®, and BABYLine® devices are used for continuous infusion and have reduced risks of infection because there is no need to frequently handle the patient’s deflectors, lines, and venous accesses.
In intermittent infusion, drugs or solutions are administered for short periods spaced over time, so small volumes (≤ 250 ml) of fluid can be administered in a few minutes or a few hours. The devices that can be used for intermittent infusion are FLOWLine®, FREEFlow®, EMAFlow®, CHEMOFlow® and BABYLine®.
Direct infusion, on the other hand, involves cannulation of a vein for the time required to administer a single dose of drug or other substance. At the end of the administration itself, removal of the needle is planned. Devices that can be used for intermittent infusion are FLOWLine®, FREEFlow®, EMAFlow®, CHEMOFlow® and BABYLine®.
